FAQs

Where do I go on the day?

Art Fest 2025 runs across Nottingham City Centre from the Victoria Centre through Hockley and into Sneinton Market.

We recommend starting at our
main info point in the Victoria Centre:

Unit 306, Victoria Centre, Nottingham, NG1 3QN (formerly Build a Bear, opposite the Emmet clock on the second floor).

From there, purchase a map or download our digital Google Map to see the murals and artworks created for this year’s Art Fest.

The route will take you onto Broad Street, through The Angel Car Park and down to The Carousel, our second info point where you’ll find exhibitions and workshops:
The Carousel, 25 Hockley, Nottingham, NG1 1FH

We recommend ending your day at Sneinton Market, where Midlands Makers will host an art market and over 20 artists will be painting live in and around Sneinton Square.

Accessibility

We’ve worked to make Art Fest as accessible as possible:

  • All main locations (Victoria Centre, The Carousel, Sneinton Market) are wheelchair accessible.

  • Step-free routes are available between sites.

  • Volunteers in high-vis will be on hand if you need directions or assistance.

If you have specific access needs, please speak to a volunteer at an info point.

Toilets

  • Toilets are available inside the Victoria Centre.

  • Public toilets are also available at Sneinton Market.

The Carousel has a bathroom, please read the accessibility document for more information.

What’s happening?

  • 10 large-scale murals painted from early September across the city.

  • 40+ artists creating smaller artworks on the festival day.

  • Exhibitions and workshops for all ages at the Victoria Centre and The Carousel.

  • Art Market at Sneinton Market with Midlands Makers.

What time does it run?

The festival runs from 10:00 – 18:00.
There’s also a FREE after party at The Carousel from 21:00.

Is it free?

Yes! Art Fest is free and open to everyone.

However, if you’d like to support us, you can donate to our Crowdfunder, which helps cover the costs of running the festival.

We have a number of rewards on our Crowdfunder where you can donate as little as £4. It’s a way for anyone who wants to support Art Fest, even on a low income, to do so.

How is Art Fest funded?

  • Core sponsorship from It’s In Nottingham.

  • Additional commissions supported by Victoria Centre, Broadway Cinema, Nottingham Waterways Accommodation, and The King Billy.

  • Paint sponsorship from MTN Global.

Getting here

  • By tram/bus: The Victoria Centre is served by multiple bus routes and is a short walk from Nottingham Trent tram stop.

  • By train: Nottingham Station is around 15 minutes’ walk from the route.

  • By car: Parking is available at the Victoria Centre and other city centre car parks.

Where are the info points?

  • Unit 306, Victoria Centre, NG1 3QN

  • The Carousel, 25 Hockley, NG1 1FH

Look out for our volunteers in high-vis jackets at these locations and along the route. They can answer your questions and can contact the core team if needed.

What workshops are happening?

Workshops will be running at our info points. You can:

  • Make your own mini festival magazine (Victoria Centre).

  • Paint characters (The Carousel).

  • Screen print (The Carousel).

  • Have your name written in Japanese (The Carousel).

All workshops are drop-in and free to join – no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Is it for all ages?

Absolutely! Art Fest is for everyone, from children to adults.

Food and drink

You’ll find cafés, pubs, and street food options all along the route – from the Victoria Centre to Hockley to Sneinton Market. Sneinton Market especially has a range of independent food and drink spots.

Staying safe

  • Art Fest takes place on public streets – please be mindful of traffic, road crossings, and crowds.

  • Children should be supervised at all times.

  • Volunteers are present across the route and can assist if you have any concerns.
