Art Fest Nottingham 2024 launched the very first edition of the festival, transforming the city with 34 artists who produced 32 artworks across the city centre. These included 9 large-scale murals, 10 smaller murals, 9 graffiti paint jams and 4 interactive poster walls. More than 1,000 maps, zines and children’s zines were distributed across the city on the day, helping guide an estimated 3,000 visitors through the festival route. Ten partner organisations hosted events and activities, engaging more than 450 participants. Online audiences were equally strong, with more than 83,000 impressions and 17,000 people reached on Instagram alone, and more than 8,800 website visits during September.

Art Fest Nottingham 2024 demonstrated the appetite for artist-led public art in Nottingham and set the foundations for the expanded 2025 festival. By combining creative ambition with community participation, the first edition established Art Fest as a new cultural moment for the city and proved that paint has the power to bring Nottingham together.
