Hockley Hustle Open Call
Want to paint at one of Nottinghams best festivals?!
Art Fest is inviting one up-and-coming artist to create a commissioned mural as part of Hockley Hustle.
On the day of the festival, artists will be taking over a series of large painting boards across Hockley, creating new work live as part of the event. We’re opening up one of those spaces to an emerging artist looking for the opportunity to work alongside some of Nottingham’s established street artists.
The selected artist will be commissioned to create an original piece on a
7 × 7 ft painting board, painted live during Hockley Hustle.
Deadline for applications: 11:59PM, 19.10.26
Chosen artist notified: 20.10.26
We will be priotising artists from Nottingham for this commision.
The Theme: MASH IT UP
Your artwork should respond to this year’s Young Hustlers theme: MASH IT UP.
How you interpret that is up to you. Mix styles, ideas, influences, characters, colours, techniques or something completely unexpected. We want to see your take on the theme and the kind of work you want to make.
Who is it for?
This opportunity is aimed at artists who are developing their practice and want to make the step into larger-scale mural or public artwork.
You don’t need an extensive mural portfolio to apply. We want to see your style, your ideas and the work you’re already making.
What do you get?
A paid artist commission fee of £250 inclusive of materials.
